If you are interested in supporting non-abusing parents and carers whose children have been sexually abused, we run training courses that covers active listening skills, telephone counselling skills, personal development, signs and symptoms of sexual abuse, manipulation and the grooming process, understanding CSA within the family, introduction to safeguarding children, The Children's Act and family law. A trained volunteer can work at Mosac to help provide these services: Helpline (8 week training at Mosac) Advocacy (6 week training course) Befriending ( 6 week training course) Counselling (Trainees must be on 2nd year Diploma training or equivalent) Play Therapy (Must have recognised Play Therapy training or equivalent, or be in training with some experience of working with children)
We also welcome volunteers with skills and experience in office administration, fundraising and IT.
Our next training course starts September 2009.
