Mosac's training and development coordinator is responsible for training the volunteers who work for MOSAC. We offer specialised training courses to external organisations, agencies and individuals in:
Specialist child abuse investigation development programme. An accredited course aimed at police officers nationally who investigate child abuse.
Joint investigation. A course for all those involved in the child protection process, mainly police and social services. Also includes education, health, charities that work with children, and others that feel it would make a contribution to their work.
Achieving best evidence. Both full week and three day refresher course. The week course is a pass/fail course and will train the student in the forensic interviewing of children. The student will have to show their ability to interview the child according to the ABE guidelines. The refresher course is aimed at practitioners who have already been trained but need updating on the new legislation and case law around ABE, also to conduct assessed interviews and receive feedback. This refresher course is not pass or fail.
Child protection awareness. This course, normally around 2-3 hours, equips people with knowledge of the child protection process, recognising abuse and how to deal with disclosures. Includes an outline of the referral and court processes.
Bespoke courses around child protection. Let Robin know what your organisation needs around the child protection process and he will discuss the feasibility of this.
Advice. We can also offer advice on all aspects of the Child Protection procedure.
If you require any details and costs of these courses, what they involve, or the timetable of the courses, please contact him through this site here.
