Julia's Blog

My name is Julia and I am a volunteer with Mosac. I am a counsellor in the counselling service and also sit on the Fund Raising Sub-Committee. I’ve been volunteering at Mosac for 3 years, and this year I’ve decided to set myself a challenge of running 10 miles for Mosac.

You won’t know that this is quite a goal for me. I am not new to running, having got into it after doing the Race for Life in 1999, but I only ever run about 3 miles, 4 on a good day. Before 1999, I couldn’t have even run for a bus. And now I am training up to do 10 miles in less than 4 weeks time – at a time when it’s getting colder here in the UK. I often wonder if I am a little crazy, but then I remember why I am doing it. I am doing it for the people who use Mosac, the parents/carers of children who have been sexually abused. If this is your situation, whether you are in the UK, USA or India, I am doing it for you.
