To become a volunteer you have to initially participate on the four week Mosac training course that covers personal development, signs and symptoms of sexual abuse, manipulation and the grooming process, understanding CSA within the family and an introduction to safeguarding children. On successful completion of the course, volunteers must attend specialist training for their role.
If you are interested in helping Mosac to support non-abusing parents and carers whose children have been sexually abused, please apply to join us in one of the following volunteer roles:
We are always looking for volunteers to staff our Helpline; to be Advocates and also Counsellors - Volunteer Counsellors must already be training to be a counsellor and be on 2nd year Diploma training or equivalent. However please note that we can only take on volunteers for such client facing roles at certain times of the year as volunteers must undertake our volunteer training programme, which runs roughly three times a year.
We also involve Play Therapy Volunteers (Trainees must have recognised Play Therapy training or equivalent, or be in training with some experience of working with children)
Volunteers working for Mosac will receive: full induction, training, ongoing training, supervision, out of pocket expenses. We also welcome volunteers wishing to use or develop their skills/experience in office administration, fundraising, communications and IT.
